Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) applied to FM band passive radar

This paper shows that innovative tracking algorithms improve the state estimation performance of a Passive Covert Radar (PCR) exploiting a single non co-operative frequency modulated (FM) commercial radio station as its transmitter of opportunity. In particular in [1] and [2], it has been stated that particle filtering (PF) is the right choice for tracking the targets of interest in the Cartesian domain. This paper aims at showing that Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) gives practically same performance with respect to the PF with extremely reduced computational load and unproblematic algorithm setting up.
