Measurement method and user equipment

The embodiment of the invention provides a measurement method and user equipment. The measurement method includes: receiving indication information transmitted by a network side device, and the indication information indicating member carriers which belong to the carriers aggregation cell where the user equipment is located and are not configured for the user equipment; for the member carriers which the indication information indicates not configured for the user equipment, performing a measurement evaluation and reporting the measurement report, and the mode for performing the measurement evaluation and reporting the measurement report for the member carriers which the indication information indicates not configured for the user equipment is different from the mode for performing the measurement evaluation and reporting the measurement report for an adjacent cell of the carriers aggregation cell where the user equipment is located. The embodiment of the invention enables, in the process of measurement, a different treatment for the member carriers which belong to the carriers aggregation cell where the user equipment is located and are not configured for the user equipment, thus reducing reporting the measurement report for the member carriers which belong to the same carriers aggregation cell and are not configured for the user equipment, and saving air interface resources for transmitting the measurement report.
