Force transmission between hand and cylindrical objects at the grip states

Using an adult male in the test, the force transmisson between a hand and object at the time of gripping cylindrical object was determined. The grip force and contact area of the hand become largest when the diameter of cylinder is about 35 mm. The largest grip force originates in the largest force between the palm and the fingers.
