Analytical development in investigation of wrist kinematics.

Abstract This paper describes a detailed analytical kinematic investigation of the wrist motion. However, the analytical formulation developed in this paper can be applied to any three-dimensional rigid body joint kinematic analysis in biomechanic research. Various experimental methods for data collection are discussed. The analysis is divided into raw data analysis and X-ray film analysis. A unified computer program is developed for the complete kinematic analysis and the accuracy of the analysis is checked by using a known mechanical joint as wrist.
