Low-power readout IC with high dynamic range for MCM-based noise dosimeter

This paper deals with a new readout interface of MEMS Capacitive Microphone (MCM) by presenting its general design as an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The proposed frontend has been developed as an integrated part of the MCM microphone ASIC in order to be used in a noise dosimeter applicable in very harsh environment, e.g. minery. Therefore, the main attention has been paid to the high dynamic range of the developed readout interface and its low-power feature. The readout circuit was designed in 0.35 μm CMOS technology, with the power supply of 2.5 V. Finally, the achieved results are discussed and compared to other works.
