An improved corrosion inspection and monitoring instrument for used oil well tubing

In the oil industry, a major area of concern in equipment performance testing is corrosion inspection and monitoring of used oil well tubing. An improved, high-resolution, computerized inspection and monitoring instrument employs the magnetic flux leakage method to inspect pitting corrosion and wall thinning caused by relatively large areas of corrosion. It also allows the survey of corrosion growth. The in-situ instrument makes oil well tubing operations safer, more reliable, and less expensive.
