Preventing Cracks of Asphalt Pavement Based on Pre-cutting Crack and Paving Geotextile at Semi-rigid Type Base

The skrinkage cracks often occur in the semi-rigid base course of asphalt pavement,which usually cause the reflection cracks on asphalt pavement.This paper puts forward a measure to prevent the cracks,this method is to pre-cut crevices on the semi-rigid base course and to put geotextile on those crevices.The design method of the crevices and geotextile is studied with mechanics analysis,a test road is constructed to verify this design method.The results show that pre-cutting crevices can effectively reduce the cracking of semi-rigid base course,putting down geotextile with 60~100 cm width on the crevices can prevent the reflection cracks on asphalt pavement.1 tab,6 refs.
