Implementation and Evaluation of a Knowledge-Based System for the Interpretation of Laboratory Data

This paper describes the implementation and evaluation of a knowledge-based system coupled to a mathematical model to diagnose, recommend management and predict the outcome of any recommended intervention in the domain of fluid/electrolyte metabolism. The environment of interest was the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
