Modeling and simulation technology for performance analysis of TCN network based on OPNET Modeler

A new TCN-network modeling method is presented for performance analysis in this paper. We describe the periodic scheduling algorithm of the bus administrator using OPNET Modeler. The time distribution occupied by master frame and slave frame is obtained in order to verify the reliability of the algorithm. Packet throughput and time latency characteristics are simulated and analyzed under different scenarios. The end-to-end delay increases but not directly proportional with the growth of data throughput, which should take the elements such as packet length of each node with functional code into account in the master-slave polling network. The bus utilization is related to frame length and number of nodes which is derived by theoretical and simulation analysis. The simulation results further show the effectiveness of the model.
