Medium Access Control (MAC)

In a wireless network, the communication medium is usually shared simultaneously by multiple users, and a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol is used to arbitrate the sharing. This chapter focuses on the fundamental design issues of MAC protocols, and introduces a reference model used to describe various MAC protocols.
