A modelling notation for contextual-based message filtering service

Information overload has become a major problem in our daily life. The rapid growth of mobile devices and mobile communication technologies in recent years has had great influence. Communication is easier; work is more effortless; and life is more convenient. Mobile technologies also move computer-supported collaborations to the portable environment. Usually, a collaborative work is composed of multiple tasks and participants, and enabling every participant to receive proper information is difficult. Useless information can cause SPAM, but lacking useful information might cause problems. A new mechanism to filter useful information is proposed based on web-based contextual filtering services. SPAM can be reduced without affecting the flow of important information. In this paper, a modeling notation to verify the usefulness of a message filtering service is proposed.
