VOTA - A Vocal Tract and Training Analysis Tool

Language is very important for communication among people. Any alteration of the phonemic functionalities, in addition to being an index of possible pathologies, it can compromise peoples interaction at various levels. This paper shows the design and implementation of a voiceawareness system able to: (i) monitor voice to avoid overload of the phonatory apparatus; (ii) give indications to prevent upset or fatigue; (iii) analyze vocal signals to identify possible pathologies; (iv) monitor voice during rehabilitation phase in pre-and postsurgical treatments.
