Chattering Free Fuzzy-PI-Sliding Mode Induction Motor Speed Controller

Abstract This paper proposes an integrated PI controller, for improved steady-state performance, and a sliding mode controller, for high transient performance. A fuzzy logic algorithm is implemented to switch between the two controllers. Stability is achieved using a design procedure based on a Lyapunov function and the feasibility of implementing such a controller in simulation and real-time is verified on a highly non-linear system, an induction motor.
