An expert system for machining data selection

Abstract The emergence of expert systems in artificial intelligence (AI) provides us some new insights for the design of a computerized machining data selection system. In this paper, the structure of a knowledge based system, which generates efficient machining parameters, is explained in detail. The functionality and operation procedures for executing this system are demonstrated using sample parts.
