Symbol Rate Estimation Based on Cosine Window Transform for MPSK and QAM Signals

In the actual application of electronic countermeasures,the accurate estimation of symbol rate is required for the captured signals' classification and demodulation.A novel algorithm based on the cosine window transform(CWT) is proposed to estimate the symbol rate for the usual signals,MPSK and QAM in communication.The signal's phase changes are located by the use of CWT,and then the spectral analysis will be used for the accurate estimation.Theoretical analysis proves the validity of the proposed algorithm.Simulation shows that it is efficient when SNR is greater than 5dB and better than the algorithm using the wavelet transform(WT).
