Influence of Flume Size on Efficiency of Horizontal Tidal Energy Runner

With the constraints of the turbine model test conditions,there exists a large difference about the similarity between the experiment and the actual operation.The CFD analysis software is used to calculate the conversion efficiency of horizontal tidal energy under the different sink widths and depths.The research also explores a variety of influence on the performance of the runner of energy conversion by the changing size of the sink based on the theory of finite wing span and infinite wing span.It gives a reasonable explanation for the differences between two different environments.The model test results are compared,which provides reference and theoretical basis for blade-type horizontal runner model test and prototype conversion.
