Fast stitching algorithm of sequence images for auto rack girder detection

According to the requirements of auto rack girder detection,a real time visual detecting system is designed,and an improved frequency-domain stitching algorithm is presented.Firstly,a large region is selected within the overlapped area of the adjacent images to form a new image,then the cross-power spectrum is computed and the two-dimension pulsing signal is obtained by inverse Fourier transform.The registration parameters are gained by detecting the maximum of pulsing signal.To fuse images,a new weighted image smoothing algorithm based on Canny is put forward.The experiments are carried out by using the real sequence images of auto rack girder,and the results show that the proposed algorithm is suitable to fast stitching,and is robust to illumination variation and noise.
