Design of Space-Based Lasers

Space-based missions impose a unique set of requirements on laser designs. From our experience in the development and qualification of the laser transmitter for the CALIPSO aerosol lidar mission, we have developed a set of design guidelines for laser transmitters that will be used in space-based missions.
