Prenatal Diagnosis by Fetoscopy and Chorion Biopsy

Amniotic fluid and its cells, obtained by amni‐ocentesis, is the fetal tissue most commonly used for prenatal diagnosis. The conditions that can be investigated include chromosome abnormalities, neural tube defects and inborn errors of metabolism. This review deals with the tissues that can be obtained by fetoscopy and chorion biopsy and the indications and techniques for performing these procedures.
