This paper describes several new technologies to promote the characteristics of existing fiber optic sensing technology such as resolution, accuracy, transmission distance and so on. By changing the fiber material, using the new technology programs of the light intensity, adopting the demodulation techniques and other methods. Hence, the fiber optic sensing technology in the power cables have better prospects for development.
