Enhancement of induction heating performance by sandwiched planar windings

Results showing induction heating performance improvement when a planar winding is placed between two media are presented. One of the media is assumed to be the load and the other must be a non-conductive material with a high magnetic permeability. This improvement has been characterised by means of measuring the increase of the equivalent resistance, associated with the power dissipation in the load. The study has been applied to a domestic induction heating system.
