Voltage Optimization Using Combined Linear Programming & Gradient Techniques

The topic of voltage optimization has been of recent interest to many researchers and is being considered by many utilities for implementation in their Energy Control Centers. Much of the past research has utilized linear programming incremental models or strictly gradient techniques. This research combines both linear programming (LP) and generalized reduced gradient techniques (GRG) for voltage optimization. The result provides most of the advantages of both LP and gradient techniques. Further, the paper discusses important considerations for implementation in an Energy Control Center.
