Applications for the Modified Scree Test Revisited

n response to the article, &dquo;Considerations in the Application of a I Modified Scree Test for Delphi Survey Data,&dquo; (this issue) we can say that the authors are clearly astute observers. Not only are they accurate in indicating the strengths and limitations of the scree test (Zoski and Jurs 1990), their three considerations are all logically sound. Briefly, their considerations are for (a) the adequacy of the criterion, (b) complex decision making, and (c) the specific characteristics of the Delphi panel. Probably, other limitations and applications will be discovered as a larger base of experience is developed. The modified scree test was developed for making easy, clear-cut policy and program decisions based on data using interval or ratio scales. Usually, the important items are rank ordered through the test procedure. The test is also useful for the initial screening of Delphi data. Furthermore, the ordinate
