Susceptibility of magnetodielectrics within an elastomer matrix to length changes in heterogeneous magnetic field

It is known that a small magnetostriction of ferromagnetic materials causes problems in some technical applications. The investigations described here allowed ferromagnetic materials with high susceptibility to deformations in the form of composites to be obtained. These composites have the properties of magnetodielectrics and consist of ferromagnetic particles located in an elastomer matrix. Eight structures of these magnetodielectrics were selected. The parameters characterizing the susceptibility of magnetodielectrics to length changes in the heterogeneous magnetic field were defined. By using an isometric model, formulas allowing the calculation of the parmeters were derived. The exemplary values of these parameters for selected structures were calculated and the results obtained are discussed below.
