Abstract Wet gas metering is a subset of multiphase flow metering. A slotted orifice is selected for the development of a wet gas meter (WGM). With the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology, the static pressure, velocity and density contours across the slotted and the standard orifice flow meter have been analyzed. Based on the experimental data the two-phase multipliers of the slotted orifice have been investigated. Two new differential pressure correlations of the slotted orifice are put forward for the first time and appropriate conclusions are discussed.
