Accessibility is a more effective criterion than mobility in determining the sustainability of transportation systems. However, accessibility is a quantitative and place-varying term that is often difficult for transportation planners to evaluate their schemes based on which. Transportation accessibility visualization can help reveal the complicated spatio-temporal and socio-economic patterns of the studied residents and areas. Currently, the Geographic Information Systems being used to produce accessibility results often fail to provide necessary flexibility for exploratory transportation accessibility analysis. In addition, the coarse-level and disaggregate accessibility mapping may produce negative impacts for users. In this study, an online integrated geo-visualization system is developed through combining various technologies to support transportation accessibility analysis. Case study is conducted and the results demonstrate the performance and feasibility of the prototype system.
