Tolerant Sharing of a Single-user Application Among Multiple Users in Collaborative Work

A novel application sharing of a single-user application, named tolerant sharing, is realized. Tolerant sharing allows users to concurrently operate the application without the need to replicate it for exchanging information objects with their applications. On a local computer real-time tolerant sharing can be realized by utilizing an application platform, called CollaboTray, which can be loaded with a single-user application. For realizing real-time tolerant sharing on remote computers we devise a three-way information transfer control for efficiently sending information about the application window’s image, events, and information objects.
