Effect of Elemental Sulphur Application on the Soybean (Glycine max Merril)

In a greenhouse experiment designed to study the effect of sulphur application on soybean using radiotracer technique it was indicated that increasing levels of S significantly raised the crop uptake and increased the amount of S derived from fertilizer and the contents of protein-S and sulphate-S in plants but there was no significant effect on non-protein organic-S content. The utilization of applied S, however, was found to decrease when the dose was raised to 20 ppm S.
