Stem cell transplantation (SCT) is increasingly being used for treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The present article summarizes available clinical results and discusses important aspects of SCT in patients with CLL including the preferable type of SCT (allogeneic vs autologous), timing of SCT, high-dose regimens, purging, and molecular monitoring of residual disease.
