The Expansion Research of Dongying CityUsing Remote Sensing Image

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the studying of urban expansion using remote sensing image. It is an effective way to detect the urbanization process. It is also a new technology that can help us solve all kinds of problem which were rising from the urbanization ,meanwhile, and raise our management level.In this paper, we proposed an approach based on image subtraction and image classification. This approach introduced the preparation work related to the expansion research of city using different time TM image at first, such as geometric correction, radiometric matching, and so on. We classified the images of different time phase with the help of other data gained beforehand in supervised classification. At last, we overlay the vector image of changed/ unchanged on the classified image and analyze the expansion of Dongying city.
