The effect of hot and humid environmental conditions on the creep behavior of commercial structural oriented strandboards

The flexural creep behavior of six commercial Sturd-I-Floor oriented strandboards, 23/32 inch thick with a span rating of 24 inches on center, was investigated under hot and humid conditions. A constant temperature of 35°C was used while a constant 95% relative humidity was maintained during the 794 h creep test followed by a 286 h recovery. Identical concentrated loads, equivalent to 16.5% of the ultimate bending stress evaluated at 23.9°C and 65% RH for the weakest product, were applied to each product group.
