Numerical Simulation on Precision Forging Technology of Straight Bevel Gear

The central shunting precision forging process of straight bevel gear was presented based on the shunting forging. The central shunt precision forging of straight bevel gear and traditional open precision forging were numerically simulated with finite element software DEFORM-3D. The results show that the central shunting precision forging process is helpful to fill the gear tooth shape, and it can effectively reduce the forming load and the strain stress difference and temperature difference in the direction of tooth width. The simulation results can provide theory basis for solving the contradiction between tooth shape filling and die life.
