HL-A matching in treatment of burned patients with skin allografts.

Abstract The survival-times of HL-A closely matched and poorly matched skin allografts were compared on the same badly burned patient in sixteen cases. Survival of closely matched grafts was significantly longer than that of the poorly matched grafts, with closely matched grafts surviving for over 2 months in adult patients with 45% or greater area burned. Closely matched skin-grafts seem to be of clinical value in the management of burned patients.
