In this paper, hysteresis characteristics were investigated from the static and dynamic test of the multi-leaf spring unit. Based on these results, mathematical algorithm for being able to describe hysteresis loop of the multi-leaf spring was proposed, and was applied to the suspension system with multi-leaf spring in heavy duty truck. in connection with ADAMS' user subroutine. In comparison with test results ' simulation results showed good agreements. Using this methodology, therefore, it is expected that dynamic characteristics of suspension system with multi-leaf spring can be more accurately evaluated in vehicle dynamics.
