Each page contains a content question, explanatory test, and on explanatory chart or table as well as information on sources useC. Key terms are shown in boldface and defined in a glossary. Section 1 provides demographic data on Americans with disabilities. Section 2 reviews more specific data on such characteristics as age, race, income and geographic location. Diseases, injuries, and impairments causing disabilities are discussed in section 3. Section 4 focuses on the elderly and children. Work disability is discussed in section 5. An appendix covers technical issues of each survey used for the charts. Contains 54 references.
