Time domain characteristics of sliding observer for flux estimation of induction motor and its implementation

A method for estimating the rotor flux of the induction motor using a sliding observer is proposed. Several advantages of the sliding observer over the reduced-order observer are clarified. Analysis in the time domain is carried out, from which a quantitative design method based on disturbance rejection capability is developed. The dynamic and steady-state characteristics of the estimation error are shown to be determined by H/sub infinity /-norm of the transfer function of the disturbance. The implementation of the sliding observer is described.<<ETX>>
