The first part of this survey presents some of the basic concepts and terms used in Natural Language Processing (NLP), both in Natural Language generation and in Natural Language interpretation. The second part describes recent theoretical and applied research results. It concludes with a discussion of NLP and its relation to knowledge management systems.
