Ripple-Free Sampling of Current Signals in Drives with Carrier-based PWM Patterns

This paper investigated the possibility of detecting the instantaneous fundamental component of current signals in electrical drives by sampling the current at the carrier's peak/valley (midpoints of zero vectors V0 and V7) in carrier-based PWM pulse patterns. PWM pattern that does not employ zero vectors or employs only one zero vector was also investigated. The observation can be extended to any carrier-based PWM patterns in which the time sequencing of the selected vectors are symmetrical in each carrier period. The conclusion was verified from both simulation and experiment
