The present study is one of our series on the reflex initiated at the otolithic organs and deep sensory organs and ending at the eyes. This study, in which torsion of the neck was applied to human test subjects instead of laboratory animals, will be compared with our previous study on rabbits." Humans have very active voluntary and involuntary eye movements and a relatively small amount of neck induced eye deviations as compared to laboratory animals; therefore, a pendular type of repeated neck torsion and computerization of results were utilized.
