A Navigation System for Visually Impaired

Mobility, that is, the ability to move and change location is a necessity of life. If one's mobility is limited, the level of quality of life is significantly lower. Visual impairment offers a serious restriction in mobility. Along with a very established aid in a form of the guide dogs and the canes, the numbers of aids were proposed to date. None of them, however, were widely accepted by visually impaired community primarily due to their limited improvement over existing aids and usually complex operation. In this paper we present a novel navigation system for visually impaired pedestrians that aim to overcome afore mentioned problems with existing systems. This system was designed using the latest user oriented methodology and thoroughly tested
