Synthesized Scheduling of Aircraft Arrival under Gate-to-Gate Mode

Gate-to-Gate is one of the future trends of air traffic management. Aircraft arrival problem is investigated under the Gate-to-Gate mode. We carry out a synthesized scheduling for both aircraft arrival’s airborne flight phase and ground taxiing phase, building a simplified mathematical model for integrated air-ground scheduling, which assigns key routes and time from the Area Control stage to the gate. An simulation example is carried out based on Beijing Terminal Area and Capital International Airport. A two-step relax-and-branch algorithm is created to handle the difficulty of long solving time of practical large-scaled model, which gives near-optimal solutions with 5.3% relative gap within 5 minutes.
