Initial Synchronization for WiBro

Algorithms for initial timing and frequency synchronization and cell search are presented for the preamble structure in the mid-2004 draft of the physical layer specifications of WiBro, the OFDMA/TDD-based portable wireless Internet system at 2.3 to 2.4 GHz band in Korea. The joint performance under multi-cell environments is observed via computer simulations for various multipath fading channel models. The simulation results show that the coarse frame timing acquisition and cell search can be successfully performed by observing a single preamble signal
