Application of the Shape Memory Alloys

The shape memory alloys are quit fascinating functional materials characterized by a shape memory effect, which lend themselves to a variety of applications. In this article, the memory principle of shape memory alloys is firstly discussed and then a new method using its shape memory effect to make the damage-controlling test specimen is put forward against the deficiency of stimulating the damage process of formation and accumulation. The applications of shape memory alloys in machines, medicine and various in electric field were introduced,an analysis has been made about the development future of shape memory alloy materials.
