A Model for Self-Adaptive Routing Optimization in Mobile Ad-Hoc Network

Thisstudydesigns,simulatesandassessestheperformanceofaSelf-AdaptivePartitionedParticle SwarmOptimization(SAP-PSO)routingmodelinaMANET.Themodelautomaticallygroups nodesintopartitionsandobtainsthelocalbestforeachpartition.Thelocalbestforeachpartition communicateswitheachothertoformtheglobalbest.Themodelwassimulatedandbenchmarked withtheTraditionalPSO(T-PSO)andtheAntColonyOptimization(ACO)usingglobalbestand computationaltimeasperformancemetrics.SimulationresultsshowedthattheT-PSOandSAPPSOdoesnothaveanysignificantdifferenceinperformancewhenthereisnointermediatenode onthenetwork.TheT-PSOoutperformedbothACOandSAP-PSOmodelswhenintermediate nodesonthenetworkwerefew.Whenalargenumberofintermediatenodesarepresentonthe network,theproposedSAP-PSOperformedbetterthanPSOandACO.ThismakesSAP-PSOa betterroutingoptimizationwhenlargenumbersofintermediatenodesareonthenetworkandthe searchspaceiscomplex.
