DIAGNOSIS OF MODULAR DISCRETE EVENT SYSTEMS

The diagnosis of unobservable fault events in discrete event systems modeled in a modular manner by means of parallel composition is considered. The notion of modular diagnosability is introduced for these systems. Necessary and sufficient conditions for this new notion of diagnosability are given. A new algorithm for verifying modular diagnosability is presented. The main feature of this algorithm is the exploitation of the modular structure of the system in order to save on computational efforts.
