Haemophilus aphrophilus endocarditis.

AbstractA case of bacterial endocarditis caused by Haemophilus aphrophilus and resulting in the death of a 70-year-old woman with a rheumatic valvular heart disease is presented. H. aphrophilus was identified biochemically and by its growth requirements. The point of entry for the infection appeared most likely to be periodontal lesions.
