Development of interpersonal skills for senior project managers

Abstract Qualified project-management personnel are an essential determinant of the success of a project. Because of the methodology qualifications and expertise in the project-management field, interpersonal social aspects are often overlooked in relation to the qualifications of senior project managers. The paper presents the results of an empirical study of interpersonal-skills qualifications, and discusses whether the challenges are met by personnel-development policies.
