Transient flow analysis of gas pipe line systems

For linepack-deliverability and line-break flow analyses, SoCal uses transient flow modeling to predict the changes in gas flows and pressures resulting throughout the system from time-varying loads and the operation of valves, compressors, and storage-field equipment. This kind of analysis has been invaluable as a tool for planning peak-day operating procedures and for predicting the effectiveness of the line-break control system.
