Using incompletely cooperative game theory in wireless LANs

In this paper, a novel concept of incompletely cooperative game theory is presented to improve the performance of WLANs. In the game, each node adjusts its equilibrium strategy according to the estimated game state. After discussing the definition of the game state, cross-layer design is introduced into the framework of the game to estimate the game state. Moreover, the equilibrium strategy of the game and a simple method to control the strategy are analyzed. Simulation results show that the game can increase system throughput, and decrease delay and packet-loss-rate.
