35.1: Simulation Method to Calculate Effective Mobility of Pixel Switching TFT Devices for QXGA TFT‐LCD Monitors

A new simulation method to calculate effective mobility of pixel switching TFT devices has been developed. It is applied to high resolution TFT-LCD monitors with a high aperture ratio and a pixel inversion driving method. Our results show that mobility greater than 1.0 cm2/v s is required for over 21 inch QXGA TFT-LCD monitors. Therefore, it is suitable to adopt low temperature poly-Si TFT devices for achieving QXGA TFT-LCD monitors.
